Hannah Brown, known from The Bachelorette, found herself faced with an unexpected health revelation at the age of 30. While on Maria Menounos’ podcast, Heal Squad, she disclosed she has a double uterus, a rare condition known as uterus didelphys, affecting only 0.3% of women.
The double uterus diagnosis left Hannah in a state of shock. “It was definitely a shock”, she expressed, adding that although doctors recommended freezing her eggs, she hasn’t felt ready to dive into motherhood yet. She wants to focus on her upcoming marriage to fiancé Adam Woolard.
Doctors haven’t conducted an exploratory surgery yet, but they suspect the uteruses are attached in some way. This condition can lead to pregnancy complications like miscarriage and preterm birth. However, Hannah stays optimistic, mentioning cases where women have successfully had children.
Despite this health scare, Hannah values gaining knowledge about her condition. She feels it empowers her as she plans her life ahead. “I definitely think I would love to have a child,” she said, acknowledging her wish to experience motherhood eventually.
This isn’t Hannah’s first health battle. In her memoir, she revealed a pancreatic cancer diagnosis at just 11. A tumour, the size of an egg, was fortunately removed without further complications, like chemotherapy.
She also disclosed experiencing ‘haunting’ sleep paralysis, narcolepsy, and anxiety. This stems partly from the trauma of family tragedy and a childhood spent frequently in doctor’s offices for various ailments.
The resilient TV star also faced a severe asthma attack on a plane, which led to an emergency landing in December 2022. Nevertheless, she has managed these health issues with a kind of graceful determination that inspires many.
Hannah’s journey through unexpected health challenges reflects her resilience and hopeful outlook on life.
